Marissa Jo Cerar (writer, 13 Reasons Why) has reportedly signed a multiyear deal with Kapitol Entertainment, according to Deadline. Kapital Entertainment is helping bring ABC’s new limited series Women of The Movement to life. The series follows Mamie Till Mobley (Adrienne Warren, Blue Bloods) whose bereaved by the killing of her son. Mobley spends the energy she has to fight the injustice that took place in the south during the Jim Crow era in an effort to honor her son.

With this new deal, Cerar signed she will be writing, developing, and producing shows that revolve around social commentary and enlighten viewers with new perspectives on life. Most of her work will reflect her passion for delving into intersectionality and the experiences of female driven characters, they will span across several mediums and encompass a variety of different genres.
