A new batch of comedies and dramas will compete with holdovers from last season as broadcast networks attempt a return to the traditional development model while also contending with the challenges of a pandemic.
Pilot Season 2021 could easily be described as Pilot Season 2020+.
After being wiped out by the pandemic, 21 of the 61 comedies and dramas that were in contention last season are returning for a second shot at getting on the schedule during the 2021-22 television season. (Labeled “2020 holdover” in the grid below.)
